Final Project
You will be choosing a topic within the media arts field that we haven't covered in class. You could look into a feature related to a piece of software we used this semester - for example, Krita, Gimp or Blender. It can also be something entirely different.
With the topic you choose, you will:
-
Learn about it through online resources, including at least one video
-
Perform a critial analysis of either a piece of art that integrates your topic, or a video that teaches the topic (where you'd be considering the video itself as the work of art)
-
Produce two examples of your own work artwork, integrating your topic
-
Create your own video tutorial, teaching about your topic. Aim for about 10 minutes in length, although depending on your topic choice, another length may be more appropriate. You can speak to me if you think this is the case.
Recording Your Tutorial
You will need to record your video tutorial in a quiet space. If you do NOT have equipment at home to do this recording (a Windows computer with a microphone should do), you'll need to sign up for a time to complete this. Available times will be during lunch, during class, or after school during the last week of school.
If you prefer:
I would also accept a video without sound, along with a written script that would go along with the video. Periodically throughout the script, indicate timestamps within the video that the part of the script coincides with.
Submission Details
In your Media Arts Google folder, create a folder called Final Project.
When your project is complete, the folder should contain:
✓ A file listing at least three resources you used to help learn about the topic. At least one should be a video.
✓ Your critical analysis Google Doc (it may have gone initially to the root of your Google Drive. Be sure to move it here).
✓ Two examples of your own artwork integrating the feature.
✓ Your video tutorial
Optional - A file describing any aspects of your video that you've put a lot of thought/work into that you want me to make sure I take into consideration for marking.
