Getting Started
Please create a folder in your Google Drive for this course, and name it something that will be meaningful to you
(for example, Grade 11 Computers).
Once created, share it with me: dcstewart@scdsb.on.ca.
Before Proceeding
Make sure you've followed through the first handout; specifically the last page about installing Google Drive Desktop
Next, download these two files to the Google Drive folder you created for this course, which you should now be able to access through the G: drive on your computer.
Go into this folder through the Windows File Explorer, and double-click on update.bat.
If it get a pop-up about trusting this file, uncheck the box that says to ask this every time,
then go ahead and trust the file.
You will be running this on a regular basis to keep your folders up to date with new files that are made available to you.
If all went well, three new folders should show up:
Library- You shouldn't need to worry about this one. It will be updated periodically when you run an update, and will contain files needed to make other things work.Local- Most of your course work will go in this folder. You will be given templates for some assignments, and they will automatically get copied into this folder when you run an update.Remote- This is where you will submit files created by Google Apps that actually reside on the cloud.
