Step 3 - Prepare Presentation
You should aim for a 15-20 minute presentation on your topic. At minimum, it should consist of:
- A slideshow (eg, on Google Slides)
- Each group member speaking about the topic
You may also include:
- A relevant video, although a video shouldn't contribute to more than about 25% of your presentation
- Some sort of interactive activity (perhaps a demonstration with a student volunteer, a quiz, or a game to help students gain knowledge of your topic)
- Something else creative that you can think of
Tips for an Effective Presentation
- Resist the temptation to put too much text on your slides. A few point form notes, and perhaps graphics/charts are great visuals to enhance talk.
- Try to elaborate on what is one your slides, rather than reading directly off of them. Make sure your presentation integrates some factual information from your research. Even if you are speaking mainly from opinion and prior knowledge, you should search for some concrete data to support your points.
